Marshall Ruffin's intimate and beautiful performance of his song, My Son. We met Marshall through Ben Sollee when they were on tour in Southern California in the spring. Marshall graciously sat in for us and gave an extraordinary performance - completely impromptu and a wonderful surprise. This was shot on location in Santa Paula, California at Deep End Ranch, a private ranch with a vested interest in the arts. Marshall is playing an extremely rare 1939 Ray Whitley Recording King guitar, one of only a few made with Adirondack spruce top and special Brazilian rosewood back and sides.
Michelle Malone hails from the deep south of Atlanta, GA and is a fiercely independent female singer songwriter in the rock, folk, blues americana and alternative country genres. "Malone has made a career out of confounding music industry conventions and kicking tail in an arena where few women have dared to venture.
